The Cortland Fire Department proudly protects a growing community of both rural and city residents. We are located in the middle of the Town of Cortland, IL protecting the Cortland as well as assisting the surrounding main suburbs of DeKalb, Sycamore, Maple Park. We also protect surrounding agricultural and industrial areas of other outlying suburbs.

Our department is currently a volunteer department with 25+ members.The Cortland Fire Department was formed in 1948 and the fire district in 1964 which encompasses 25 sq. miles and borders on the Sycamore Fire District on the North, Maple Park Fire Protection District on the East, Hinckley Fire Protection District on the South and DeKalb on the West.
