On Sunday May 4th Cortland Fire Department responded to a brush fire located off Pleasant Rd. Cortland responded with an engine and a brush truck with Dekalb Fire Department assisting with a brush truck.

Around 2pm Cortland Fire Department responded to a barn fire. Upon arrival they found heavy fire load and requested mutual aid up to a third alarm.
The time is coming again to check your smoke detectors, “Fall back, and Spring Ahead.” Batteries should be replaced at least once a year or whenever the low-battery indicator sounds. Conventional smoke alarms should be replaced every 10 years too. If you have a lithium battery, they should last 10 years.
